About

Meerkat Facts is a short daily audio episode for children aged 4 to 13, and for the parents, teachers and families who listen with them. Duplessis Innovations makes it in Cape Town.

Each morning, South Africa time, there is one ready-to-play episode for ages 4–6, one for ages 7–9, and one for ages 10–13. Episodes are recorded ahead of time. Each day's episode goes live at 4:00 in the morning, South Africa time. Nothing is generated when you press play.

Facts link to their sources. Past days are in the archive, and every source URL is on the sources page.

There is also a maths quiz for each age group, and an English word of the day. The quiz uses that day's published questions when they exist. Answers are not saved.

There is no sign-in. The age group you choose stays on this device.

Pick the age group, then press play. One episode is enough for the start of a lesson, a morning meeting, or the drive home. Read the facts afterwards and talk about them together.

Every fact links to a source. Open the link with the children so they can see where the fact came from. Past episodes stay on the archive.
